What Is Gashapon?
Gashapon is the name for Japanese capsule toy machines that dispense collectible figures in sealed capsules. The name comes from the sound the machines make when you turn the knob. “Gasha” refers to the turning of the handle and “pon” is the sound of the capsule dropping.
These machines are extremely popular in Japan and can often be found in arcades, game stores, and shopping centers. Each machine contains a series of collectible figures, and every spin gives you a random capsule, so you never know exactly which one you will get.

Our current Gashapon machines feature multiple Kirby figures along with a Pokémon Picnic figure series. Each spin gives you a random capsule containing one of several possible collectible designs from that series.

Once these series sell out, we plan to rotate in new Gashapon related to video games, so there will always be something new to collect when you stop by Game World.
How It Works
Playing the Gashapon machines is simple and part of the fun is the surprise.
First, purchase a token at the counter for $9.99. Each token equals one spin of the machine.
Once you have your token:
- Insert the token into the Gashapon machine
- Turn the knob until the capsule drops
- Open the capsule to reveal your random collectible figure
Each machine contains multiple possible figures from the same series, so you never know which one you’ll get. Part of the excitement of gashapon is collecting different designs and trying again to find your favorites.

Both locations carry the machines, and each spin is $9.99 per token. Tokens can be purchased at the counter before spinning.
